Your Front Yard Can Be a Force for Ecological Healing
Tu Jardín Delantero Puede Ser una Fuerza de Sanación Ecológica
Il Tuo Giardino Può Diventare una Forza di Guarigione Ecologica
Every front yard is a chance to restore native habitat, support pollinators, and join a growing network of micro-sanctuaries. You can do this on your own — and if you want guidance, we're here to help.
The Holon Approach
El Enfoque Holon
L'Approccio Holon
A platform for ecological transformation — on your terms.
Holon Gardens provides the platform, tools, and community to transform any front yard into a thriving micro-sanctuary. Through the Trust Portal, you can assess your site, choose conservation commitments, document progress, and connect with fellow stewards — all on your own, at your own pace. No external help required.
If you do want hands-on support, our multidisciplinary team brings together landscape ecology, civil engineering, art, and project management to create native landscapes that are both ecologically rigorous and aesthetically exceptional. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all revenue beyond costs goes directly to our 3% Initiative — gifting gardens to families and neighborhoods that need them most.
How It Works
Cómo Funciona
Come Funziona
One path, many ways to walk it. Do it yourself, work with us, or choose another provider.
Site Assessment
Understand your yard's ecological context — soil, hydrology, sun exposure, existing species, and neighborhood ecology. You can conduct this assessment yourself using our Portal guides, request a professional assessment from us, or work with any qualified provider.
Commitment & Design
Register your garden in the Holon Trust Portal and choose your micro-conservation commitments — native species ratios, pollinator support, stormwater management, and more. Then design your restoration plan: on your own, with our ecologists and designers, or with another provider of your choice.
Installation & Verification
Build your garden and submit it for community verification through the Portal. Our multi-stakeholder, multi-layer verification system builds trust: peer photo review, citizen bio-audits, and professional certification. Whether you planted it yourself or hired help, the verification process is the same.
Stewardship & Network
Join a growing community of verified stewards. Log your steward walks, share observations, trade native plants through the distributed nursery, and watch your garden's measured impact grow over time. Your garden becomes a node in a living network that strengthens the ecology of your entire neighborhood.
The Trust System
El Sistema de Confianza
Il Sistema di Fiducia
Why trust matters — and what it unlocks
Transforming your front yard is an investment in your community and the environment. We believe that investment deserves recognition — and real rewards. The Holon Trust System creates a verifiable record of your ecological commitments, and that record is what makes incentives possible.
Verified Impact
Through the Portal, your garden's ecological contributions are documented and verified at multiple levels — peer review, citizen bio-audits, and professional assessments. This creates a credible, transparent record that can be recognized by businesses, municipalities, and institutions.
Incentives & Benefits — Our Vision
We believe that people who invest in restoring their front yards deserve tangible rewards. Our aspiration is to build a system where verified ecological stewardship unlocks real benefits — from federal tax deductions for conservation efforts, to sales tax exemptions on native plants, flood insurance discounts, water bill savings, local business discounts, and stormwater fee credits. These benefits are not yet fully available through our platform, but building the pathways to make them accessible is a core part of our mission. Every verified garden brings us closer.
Advocacy & Future Regulation
We believe people who invest in restoring their front yards deserve support from local and federal government — through tax reductions, credits, and incentive programs. Influencing future regulation to reward ecological stewardship is a core part of our mission. As our network of verified gardens grows, so does our collective voice for policy change.
Local Business Partners
We envision a Green Business Alliance where local businesses offer discounts and premium services to verified stewards — recognizing neighbors who are investing in the health of the community. If you're a local business reading this, we'd love to have you as a partner. Together, we can reward the people leading ecological transformation in your neighborhood.

Your garden is more than a garden — it's a node in a living community
Ecological Impact
Every garden is measured across multiple dimensions in the Portal: native species diversity, pollinator visits, stormwater captured, carbon sequestered, and soil health restored. Your individual impact is real — but connected gardens create corridors that multiply the effect across the neighborhood.
Community & Childhood Development
Native gardens create spaces where neighbors meet, children explore, and teenagers find purpose. Research shows that access to biodiverse green spaces improves cognitive development, reduces stress, and strengthens the social fabric of neighborhoods. Your front yard becomes a site for intergenerational learning, cultural exchange, and the kind of unstructured outdoor interaction that builds resilient communities.
A Shared Network of Trust
Through the distributed nursery, stewards share and trade locally adapted native plants. Through verification, they build collective credibility. Through the Portal, they see the aggregate impact of their neighborhood — turning isolated efforts into a visible, measurable movement that inspires others and attracts support.
The Journey to Your Garden

What to expect over the first year and beyond
Month-by-Month Progress
Establishment Phase
New plants are settling in. You'll notice rapid root development and initial growth. Weekly watering required. This is the critical foundation period.
Expansion Phase
The garden accelerates growth. First pollinator arrivals. You'll observe increased biodiversity and plant spread. Maintenance reduces to twice-monthly.
Maturity Phase
The ecosystem self-organizes. Flowering intensifies. Seasonal transitions happen naturally. The garden becomes increasingly low-maintenance and resilient.
Legacy Phase
Your garden is a mature sanctuary. The ecosystem thrives with minimal intervention. Costs decline while value increases—ecological and social.
